Board of Directors

The Board of Moyne Health Services consists of independent non-executive directors from a range of backgrounds and with local ties to the local community. Board directors are appointed to the Board by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Minister for Health.

Sophie O'Keeffe

Board Chair

Sophie, who was born in Port Fairy, commenced her Nursing career at Melbourne’s Peter MacCullum Cancer Centre. Since that time, she has worked overseas and in remote parts of Australia. She returned to the south west in 2016 to take on a position as Nursing Lecturer at Deakin University’s Warrnambool campus.

Sophie’s qualifications include Bachelor of Nursing, Graduate Certificate of Cancer and Palliative Care Nursing, Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. She is currently studying a Master of Education (Leadership and Management) and has a particular interest in rural health research.

Sophie is an active community volunteer for a range of community groups and organisations, including Standing Tall and the south West Emerging Leaders program.

Jodie Cranham

Deputy Board Chair

Jodie has had extensive health care experience as a senior leader of multi-disciplinary teams across metropolitan, regional, and rural Victoria. Her most recent senior roles have included Executive Director of Aged Care and Interim Chief Executive Officer of a rural health service. Her passion is employee engagement, development, and alignment to values to create a great place to work and exceptional consumer experience. She has successfully completed a Masters Business Administration, Bachelor Arts- Communication, Diploma Applied Science (Dental Therapy) and more recently is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors

Trevor Carr

Director

Appointed: 1 July 2019
Term Expires: 30 June 2025

Trevor is an electrical engineer who has worked in consulting engineering and manufacturing roles in south west Victoria over the past decade. He is currently employed as Manager – Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance at Wannon Water.

Trevor has honed his skills in asset management, project management, capital planning, strategic planning and regulatory compliance and relishes opportunities to promote long-term solutions to short-term problems.

A proud alumni of the Leadership Great South Coast program, Trevor is a former member of the Port Fairy Winter Weekends Committee. He is married with two young children, enjoys the outdoors with his family and is only ‘mildly obsessed’ with golf.

Maria Safe

Director

Appointed: 30 August 2022
Term Expires: 30 June 2025

Maria began her career in nursing and has since worked in various clinical, business and operational management roles across a number of Victorian health services. Maria also worked at the Victorian Department of Health as Manager of the Renal Clinical Network, where she managed funding models, quality initiatives and policy.

Maria is currently the Manager, Renal Services of the Royal Melbourne Hospital where she leads the operational, strategic and financial elements of the service. Of particular interest is fostering collaborative health care partnerships and equity of access for regional consumers.

Maria completed a Bachelor of Nursing, Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing Management and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. She maintains a strong connection with Port Fairy and surrounds and visits with her family as often as she possibly can.

Michael Everett

Director

Michael has over 35 years experience in all aspects of finance, corporate services and governance in the both the Victorian and Commonwealth public service. He holds a Bachelor of Economics from La Trobe University and is FCPA and GAICD qualified. Most recently he was Director Corporate Services with the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission and has held similar roles with Corrections Victoria and the Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority.


Jean Yves Henri

Director

Jean-Yves is a seasoned commercial finance professional with over 15 years of experience. He has served as a senior finance professional for listed, member-owned, and privately owned companies, leading finance functions at both regional and national levels.

Jean-Yves has gained exposure to a variety of industries, including Real Estate, property development, retirement living, aged care, and currency management. In addition to his corporate roles, he actively contributes to the community as a member of a Not-for-profit Audit and Risk Committee. He has also been a member of several property associations/committees in the past.

Jean-Yves is a CPA and MBA, he holds a master’s qualification in finance and accounting, showcasing his strong educational background and expertise in the field.


Jane Dow

Director

Jane is a physiotherapist by background and has been working in the Barwon South West Region for over 15 years. She completed her postgraduate studies in 2017, electing units in evidenced-based practice, quality improvement framework, design and implementation, which complement her passion for the delivery of high-value healthcare.

Jane has held varied leadership roles in public and private health organisations. Currently she is the statewide Clinical Director at Allied Therapy Services, a multi-disciplinary community Allied Health service based across regional Victoria. Jane has a particular interest in Collaborative Practice in the delivery of healthcare, and enjoys sharing the values with the next generation of healthcare professionals through her sessional work as a facilitator at Deakin University and the Australian Catholic University.

Outside of work Jane enjoys spending time as ‘mum’ with her young family and open water swimming in the many fantastic swimming spots the South West coast has to offer.


Mark Koch

Director

Mark brings to Moyne Health Services over 20 years of management experience across various sectors in regional Victoria. Mark currently sits on the South West Local Learning and Employment Network board of management, and has previously sat on other not for profit boards in South West Victoria.

Growing up on a farm near Horsham, Mark is a country boy at heart and deeply understands the value of community.

His early career included roles in the IT industry, accountancy and community services, focusing on employment, disability services, family services, foster care, and family counselling. Mark’s passion for community service and making a difference drew him to the not-for-profit sector 25 years ago.

Currently, Mark serves as the Head of Strategy and Growth at are-able, where he has worked in executive roles for over seven years. His extensive experience includes strategy, governance, risk, quality, finance, information technology and information security.

In his spare time, Mark enjoys bushwalking, fishing, and is currently learning to surf.


Sarah Gray

When it comes to health, Sarah is a trusted expert and innovator, working to deliver products and services that truly change the healthcare landscape in Australia. Sarah’s personal purpose is to challenge the status quo, and make a difference to the health and happiness of all creatures (humans and animals) on the planet.

As a registered pharmacist and nutritionist, together with holding a Global Executive MBA qualification, Sarah is able to apply a commercial and strategic lens to health focused businesses, while providing deep knowledge of the sector, resulting in disruptive innovation, entrepreneurial ventures and thought leadership.

Sarah has a special talent to empower, coach and mentor teams to deliver world-first services that are changing the face of healthcare. Sarah’s authentic and inclusive leadership style is demonstrated through strong relatability and connections with others, both internal and external stakeholders.

Sarah is passionate about providing a psychologically safe environment to foster teams and businesses to reach their full potential. Her influential and tenacious style, lays the foundations for successful leadership and business growth.

As well as being a valued leader in health, Sarah is a non-executive director in the sporting sector, driving community mental health benefits and fostering diversity and inclusivity in the sector.
