Jim swims

This week as we celebrate the tireless efforts and dedication of our generous volunteers, we’re sharing Jim’s story.  Jim grew up in Port Fairy, with East Beach as his second home and is now a much loved member of our Belfast House family.

Nearly every morning you will see Jim being helped into the ocean for his daily ritual thanks to the wonderful support of volunteers. There’s a small group of volunteers who rally around Jim, paving the way for Jim to reconnect with his beach, which he says – ‘This beach is me’!

From everyone at MHS, we are truly grateful to all volunteers for allowing Jim to still be Jim as he throws everything he has into his daily swim.  We cannot thank you enough.

Read Jim’s moving story of how he forgets his MS with morning ocean swim.
