MHS welcomes new Board Chair.
The Board has welcomed new Board Chair, Brian Densem. Brian succeeds Karen Foster, who held the position since September 2017 and who will remain on the board as a director.
Brian joined the Board in 2018 and brings an impressive and diverse background in general management, governance, risk management and strategic internal audit. In addition to his corporate background, Brian contributes to the broader community via chairing of three local government and local statutory body Audit & Risk Committees.
Brian is a CPA and a Professional Fellow of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Australia. He has had exposure to a number of industries, including; Retirement Living, Aged Care, In Home Care, Banking, Funds Management, Financial Advice, Insurance, and Local Government.
Brian expressed his gratitude to outgoing, Board Chair Karen Foster, for her community focus, direction and support during her tenure as Chair. “Fellow Directors and I are very appreciative of Karen’s leadership since September 2017 and pleased that she will remain on our board as a director”, Brian said.
Brian is looking forward to working with MHS’ CEO Jackie Kelly and the Board to make significant changes to the way health services are delivered to the community. Brian says that it is energising to be stepping into this role at such an exciting time for MHS. “I look forward to working with Jackie and the team to continue to further grow on the success of our health services”, said Brian. Finalising, then implementing our Strategic Plan is a key priority of the Board, as a significant amount of work and community consultation has been undertaken to steer the organisation into the future.
