2015 Annual General Meeting reports a Bumper Year
President Ralph Leutton welcomed residents and community members to Moyne Health Services (MHS) Annual General Meeting on Thursday 26th November, 2015. Mr Leutton provided a comprehensive overview of MHS achievements over the last 12 months and thanked a number of community groups for their tireless support over the years.
CEO David Lee reported that Moyne Health Services had recorded a net operating surplus before capital and specific purpose items of $379,872. Mr Lee said, “that this was a great result for a small rural health service. A strong demand for residential aged care services, healthy private insurance and DVA client care income all contributed to a strong revenue result. Maintaining some discipline over the services expenditure was another reason for the positive result”
Mr Lee said, “that the directions of MHS in the next 12 months included:
- Completing the construction of the Community Health Centre;
- Lobbying for the construction of the Urgent Care Centre;
- Colocation of the Port Fairy Ambulance Station; and
- Upgrades to the older parts of Moyneyana Hostel.”
Marian Cornett a Dietician at MHS was the Guest Speaker. Marian gave an excellent presentation and spoke about her philosophy around healthy eating.
Fay and Dennis Lemke were then recognised with MHS Life Governor Awards. Mr Lemke said, “This presentation is not what we’re working for. We’re doing it for the pleasure of being of service to charity. If we weren’t working we don’t know what we’d be doing. We’d have nothing to do. It’s been a great pleasure to have been working for all these years.”
Mr Leutton presented long service medals to staff members and thanked them for their commitment and dedication to MHS.
