Moyne Health Services celebrated International Women’s Day with four inspirational speakers on the theme of #push for progress.

Karen Foster Chair of Moyne Health Services spoke about opportunity, belief in who you are and the individual commitment in making a difference to women’s lives.

Sister Margaret Gall spoke of her life as a nun and giving back to community, her dedication to caring for others and her experiences of working and caring for other sisters in Melbourne and Port Fairy.

Kate Sloan spoke about her experience as a Nurse Practitioner and the evolution of nursing over the last thirty years.

“We still have along way to go but we have seen huge progress in the nursing profession”. ( Kate Sloan 2018).

Oriel Glennen spoke about the special relationship she had with her mother and how that relationship has influenced her in her adult life. Oriel then sang her own song about that experience. We ended with a song and dance and a wonderful morning tea.

“Today, we recognise the great achievements made on the hard-fought path to equality for women, and draw attention to what more needs to be done”. (Julia Gillard 2018)
